From September 29 to October 2, 2026, a delegation from Uzbekistan visited Seoul, Republic of Korea, as part of an invitation training program under the project “Capacity Building of Mass Media and Healthcare Professionals to Enhance Public Awareness of Public Health Issues and Access to Healthcare Services in Uzbekistan.” The project is implemented by the Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Community Chest of Korea (CCK) and the Korea Foundation for International Healthcare (KOFIH).
As part of the training program, the delegation visited KOFIH Headquarters, the Korea Health Promotion and Development Institute (KHEPi), Seoul National University (SNU) and Gwanak-gu Public Health Center. During the visits, participants learned about the institutions’ operational systems and Health Literacy-Based Health Communication by Director of KHEPi Lee Don Hyung, attended a presentation on risk communication by Prof. You Myoungsoon of SNU and took part in facility tours and on-site learning sessions.
We believe that the exchange of knowledge, experiences and best practices between Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea will contribute to strengthening the capacity of healthcare professionals and media representatives, enhancing public health communication, and promoting greater public awareness of health issues and available healthcare services in Uzbekistan.
