On September 22, 2026 KOFIH Uzbekistan Office Deputy Country Representative Kim Hayoung participated in the Health Development Partners Meeting, hosted by the Medical and Pharmaceutical Industry Development Agency of Uzbekistan, to discuss future priorities, directions, and opportunities for collaboration in the health sector.
Strengthening hospital quality and accreditation was highlighted as a key priority. Korea has contributed to this area through EDCF-funded infrastructure support by KEXIM Bank at the National Children’s Medical Center (NCMC), complemented by KOFIH’s capacity-building support in hospital management. These combined efforts contributed to the NCMC achieving Uzbekistan’s first JCI accreditation.
Representing KOFIH, Deputy Country Representative Kim Hayoung emphasized that alongside the expansion of hospital infrastructure, quality, effective management, and long-term sustainability are essential to strengthening healthcare systems.
The meeting also provided an opportunity to explore continued cooperation and partnership among health development partners, contributing to Uzbekistan’s efforts toward a stronger, higher-quality and more sustainable healthcare system.
