2026 Uzbekistan KGA General Assembly

On September 11, 2026, the 2026 Uzbekistan KGA General Assembly was held at the Ballroom of InterContinental Tashkent in the framework of the Dr. Lee Jong-wook Fellowship Program.

The event brought together representatives from Ministries, the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Uzbekistan, Partner agencies, Korean and Uzbek Partner organizations and members of the Uzbekistan KGA network.

This year’s General Assembly was especially meaningful as KOFIH celebrates its 20th Anniversary and commemorates the legacy of Dr. Lee Jong-wook. In his opening remarks, Yang Hee Man, Country Representative of KOFIH Uzbekistan, highlighted that Dr Lee Jong-wook Fellowship Program Alumni are invaluable partners in international health cooperation, adding, KOFIH will evolve beyond simple support into a partnership that fosters mutual growth and creates sustainable change.

Hyun Mijoo, Minister Counsellor and Consul General of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Uzbekistan and Khudaykulov Adkham, Deputy Minister of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, also delivered congratulatory remarks, highlighting the longstanding partnership and continued cooperation between Korea and Uzbekistan. Following the opening session, Kim Hayoung, Deputy Country Representative of KOFIH Uzbekistan, presented KOFIH Uzbekistan: Strategic Roadmap for 2026–2030. Three 2026 KGA Activities were then presented by KGA Members. The event concluded with a dinner and commemorative group photo, providing an opportunity for KGA Members and partners to strengthen connections and celebrate their shared journey.

We believe that KGA network, built upon the vision and legacy of Dr. Lee Jong-wook, will continue to serve as a bridge between Korea and Uzbekistan, fostering knowledge exchange, strengthening healthcare professionals and creating lasting impact for healthier communities.
