As part of the Dr Lee Jong-wook Fellowship Program, following the 2026 KGA General Assembly, representatives and alumni from 10 Partner countries — Tanzania, Vietnam, Uganda, Cambodia, Lao PDR, Sri Lanka, Ethiopia, Ghana, Uzbekistan and Indonesia — participated in an Alumni Study Visit to Korea from August 29 to September 4, 2026.
During the visit, participants explored Korea’s health and medical system through visits to Pyeongchang County Public Health Center and the Wonju Medical Industry Support Foundation, where they met with local officials, attended relevant lectures and gained insights into Korea’s healthcare policies, practices and innovative approaches, while identifying potential policy applications and lessons for their respective countries. The program also featured Alumni Capacity Building and Network Development activities, alongside cultural experiences and visits to key attractions in Seoul.
We believe this meaningful exchange strengthened professional networks, deepened mutual understanding and inspired participants to transform shared knowledge and experiences into practical actions for stronger and more sustainable healthcare systems in their home countries.
