Electrode
An electrode serves as an interface between the human body and a medical device, enabling the measurement of electrical activity generated within the body.
A low electrode impedance is important because it allows electrical signals from the body to be detected more easily and accurately.
Common types include: Surface electrodes, Needle electrodes and Microelectrodes
Differential Amplifier
A differential amplifier is an amplifier that produces an output proportional to the difference between two input signals.
One of its key advantages is its ability to eliminate or suppress common-mode noise—unwanted signals that enter both inputs simultaneously. This makes differential amplifiers especially useful for accurately measuring weak biomedical signals.
NMU – Neuromuscular Unit
A neuromuscular unit (NMU) refers to a group consisting of a motor nerve and the muscle fibers controlled by that nerve.
A single motor nerve can branch into many nerve endings and, in many cases, control more than 100 muscle fibers. The motor nerve and all the muscle fibers it controls together form a motor unit.
